Ambulance Service
Fulton County Hospital's ambulance services began in 1974. In 1978 it became an essential service and was staffed by emergency medical technicians. Fulton County Hospital has two fully staffed ambulance bases located at the hospital and one located in Mammoth Spring.
The Fulton County Hospital Ambulance Service is staffed with professional EMTs and Paramedics who are licensed by the Arkansas Department of Health EMS Division. The EMTs are certified in Basic life support (BLS) and the Paramedics are certified in Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) pediatric advanced life support (PALS) Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS), and HAZ-MAT.
In 1989 a lighted heliport was constructed at the hospital. Now once major emergency patients are stabilized, they can quickly be transported to a major hospital that specializes in the needs of that patient.
